Tribal Connections: Where Does the Tribe Begin?

Greetings Tribe 💛✨ 

This morning, I shared the story behind Tribe of Travelers and introduced Chapter One of When the Village Dances. 

But stories are never meant to belong to just one person. 

They become meaningful when they help us reflect on our own lives. 

So today, I’d like to ask you a different question. 

Where does a Tribe begin? 

Is it when strangers meet? 

When someone invites you to an event? 

When you book your first trip?

Or does it begin much earlier…

When you finally feel seen? 

Belonging Isn’t Something We Find Overnight

Many of us spend years searching for people who understand us. 

Sometimes we find them through family. 

Sometimes through work. 

Sometimes while travelling. 

Sometimes completely by accident. 

The truth is, belonging rarely arrives with an announcement. 

It grows one conversation at a time. 

One shared experience. 

One familiar smile. 

One person who says,

“I’m glad you’re here.”

That’s how communities are built. 

Not through numbers. 

Through people. 

The Story Behind This Week’s Chapter

In Chapter One of When the Village Dances, six strangers arrive carrying six different histories. 

Different countries. 

Different cultures. 

Different journeys. 

At first, they have very little in common except one quiet feeling. 

Each of them is looking for somewhere they belong. 

They don’t realise that the place they’ve been searching for isn’t a destination. 

It’s each other. 

Perhaps that’s what every village really is. 

Not a place on a map. 

But people choosing to build something together. 

Building Our Global Village

That’s the vision behind Tribe of Travelers. 

We organise tours.. 

We host Friendly Fridays. 

We write stories. 

We create spaces to meet. 

But none of those things are the destination. 

They’re simply ways for people to discover one another. 

Every person who joins brings something unique. 

A different culture. 

A different perspective. 

A different life experience. 

Together, those stories become our Global Village. 

And that’s something worth celebrating. 

Your Story Matters Too

One of the things I love most about this community is that no two journeys are the same. 

Some members have travelled the world. 

Others are planning their very first adventure. 

Some were born in Leicester. 

Others have made Britain their new home. 

Some are reconnecting with their heritage. 

Others are discovering cultures they've never experienced before. 

Every story belongs here. 

Because every story adds another thread to the tapestry we’re weaving together.
