Sunday Reflection: What the Picture Doesn't Tell You
Big up fam!
Took Amani and Obama out today.
Nia and Naomi came too, which meant I briefly convinced myself I had enough responsible people around me to relax.
That was my first mistake. 😂
The boys were playing and I took a picture to send to Zaire.
Nothing deep.
Just one of those photos you take because everybody looks happy and you want somebody who isn't there to see it too.
Then I looked at it.
After everything that's happened this week, I kept thinking about how much a picture can show you.
And how much it can't.
The boys were there.
They were laughing.
That's true.
But somebody looking at that picture years from now wouldn't know what happened five minutes before it.
Or five minutes after.
They'd have the moment.
Not the whole story.
Maybe that's what I'm carrying with me from this week.
A picture can show you the moment. It can't always tell you what the moment means.
